Meeting Objectives
Chester County Economic Development offers services to support foreign direct investment (FDI) opportunities for Canadian companies looking to grow or expand into the southeast U.S. We offer large, certified sites capable of supporting large natural gas users and many of our sites offer dual-rail service via the L&C Railroad. Since 2021 we have announced more than $2.5 billion in capital investment and 1,500+ jobs, including Gallo bottling plant ($423 million & 496 jobs), IKO Industries a Canadian fiberglass & fiberglass mat manufacturer ($363 million and 180 jobs), and Albemarle Corporation lithium hydroxide processing plant ($1.3 billion and 300 jobs).

Chester County, South Carolina is located on I-77 between Charlotte and Columbia, which is fantastic for attracting talent from two metros. We are 40-minutes from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) with direct daily flights to Toronto and Montreal, plus additional seasonal Canadian flights. We are also 2.5-hours from the Port of Charleston, the 8th largest U.S. container port. We are the #1 manufacturing county in the Charlotte metro. Over 45% of our private sector workforce is in manufacturing, and we have experienced the most manufacturing job growth in the region.
